I for one, completely agree with this quote. I guess all binge watchers do. With the holiday season around the corner and so many shows releasing, the time is just right for binge watching. And what better place to chill, than at Netflix? With Netflix being globally available now, there is just so much content available, that you possibly cannot finish in years, even if you binged every damn day.

There were times when I got lost in the infinite ever-updating library of Netflix. If you are lost too and don’t know where to began, let me help you in looking into the latest, meaningful, trending shows in Netflix across various genres. And no, they don’t include popular ones like Silicon Valley or Game of Thrones or The Marvelous Life of Mrs. Maisel. I know you have already finished watching them. Also, they are not on Netflix. Just saying.

First things first. If you haven’t watched it already, then you are definitely missing out on it. It’s been close to a month since the second season of our favorite YouTube series, Little Things, made it to Netflix. This holiday season, do not forget to finishing watching this, before starting anything else. While you are at it, also watch Yeh Meri Family, too.

You must check out how a finger sized puffer fish made this huge mandala, all by himself. Life Story is documentary, divided into the 6 episodes, depicting the 6 stages of life in species other than humans. Each episode just outweighs the previous one, with fascinating visuals and awe-inspiring characteristics of various species. If you are an animal lover like me, or better yet, if you worship Sir David Attenborough like me, do yourselves a favor and watch this series. Personally, I thought this was better than Planet Earth.

The show is a documentary on history of popular foods from the Indian subcontinent. It is divided into mini episodes with interesting visuals of our popular foods, where they originated from, how they reached India and all about their transformations. I am a huge fan of such historical shows, especially when they are about food and culture. I suggest you add this to your binge-watch list as well.

This is a show from Nat Geo. As the name suggest, these are Tales by Light, from the eyes of the storytellers themselves. What keeps the photographers driving to get through the most difficult treks and uninhabitable depths of nature, is explained by world’s best photographers. This is a visual treat like never before. The stories are so gripping and satisfying, that you can’t help but binge watch all the episodes.

Narcos Mexico

For everybody who missed Breaking Bad, Narcos gave them hope, with the drama and suspense. With fans waiting for more of it, Netflix has released the show Narcos Mexico, which is similar to Narcos, but from a Mexican perspective. The show has all the swag and will not let you away from binge watching the entire season.

Nature’s Great Events

From polar bears to great blue whales, from salamanders to wildebeests, this documentary captures all of Nature’s Great Events. Migrations, tides, melts and runs, whatever it is, Sir David Attenborough strikes again with his captivating narration. This is a must watch for all lovers of Mother Nature.

World War 2 In Color

This one is for all the history buffs. World War II in Color has made it to the Netflix library and it is definitely worth watching. With original footage and unbiased narration, the documentary gives a detailed insight into the War. All the episodes are in chronological order or events, segregated by major turning points. I came to know of the many atrocities of the War, and by that, I don’t mean the Holocaust alone. There were many more. Watch to find out.

The Great British Baking Show

How can we talk about binge watching shows on Netflix, that too during the holiday season, without adding a baking show to the list? And what show can bake better than The Great British Baking Show? The show has finished 6 seasons and all of them are available on Netflix. Cakes or biscuits or pies, the choice is yours. This show gives us all the details of blunders you might make and tips to bloom your bake. May be you can’t binge watch it all at once, but there is a takeaway in every episode.

This is for fans of science. It is a science show, which was probably designed for kids, but I watched it anyway. The host, Sahana, teaches us facts and reasons for common things we come across in daily life, in short episodes. If you used to watch Brain Games on Nat Geo, then this show is for you. It makes you feel nostalgic and takes you back to your childhood enthusiasm of learning everyday science.

Samagri, Sampatti Aur Sauda

This is another cool show, which depicts the history of Indian culture, food and civilization.
